Commercial law

El Commercial Law, belonging to the field of Private Law, has as its main focus the entrepreneur, his legal status and the activities he develops in the market. This field regulates commercial acts in general, regardless of whether they are carried out by merchants or not, and even if they do not have a commercial character in the economic sense. In particular, it deals with acts related to the exploitation of organized commercial industries, considered typical of commerce. Likewise, it covers those acts carried out occasionally by merchants or non-merchantists, known as improper commercial acts, as long as they are commercial in nature.

This area of law addresses issues such as the status of the merchant or commercial entrepreneur, both individually and socially, as well as situations of abnormality in the fulfillment of obligations.

Currently, Commercial Law also encompasses institutions related to what is known as Competition Law. These institutions have emerged autonomously and have been integrated into the doctrine and legislative evolution in industrial property, which includes aspects such as trademarks, trade names and industrial design.
